Is old photo restoration free?
Signing up is free and each restoration costs a small number of credits. If the AI fails to produce a result, the credits are refunded automatically.
Will restoration change the faces?
No. The restore instruction explicitly requires every face to stay exactly unchanged - the AI only removes scratches and noise, sharpens detail and adds natural color.
Can it colorize black-and-white photos?
Yes. The default preset asks for natural, realistic color on a black-and-white image - skin, clothing and scenery all come back tonal and believable.
What condition of photo can it handle?
Fading, grain, scratches, creases and moderate noise all restore well. Extremely damaged prints may need a couple of attempts with an adjusted description.
Do you also restore videos?
Damaged film is not supported yet, but the Video Edit studio can restyle, relight and clean up short clips.
How long does a restoration take?
Usually under a minute per photo. The revived image lands straight in My Works, ready to download or share with family.
My scan is small and blurry - will it still work?
It helps a lot to scan or photograph the print at higher resolution. The AI sharpens what is there, but it cannot invent detail that the source never captured.
Will the added colors look believable?
The preset asks for natural, era-appropriate tones rather than oversaturated color. If you want a specific palette, just add it to the instruction.
